RHISD receives Jet Grant award in the amount of $331,056 for the Law Enforcement program. The district was able to purchase equipment such as a Police Car Simulator and a Shooting Simulator that presents real world scenarios in that provide training skills to students. In addition, a 911 simulator and a Drone was also purchased with the funds. Special thank you to the Texas Workforce Commission for providing these opportunities to school districts in which state of the art equipment can be purchased. Students in this pathway are able to be exposed to experiences in the law enforcement field and the opportunity to attain certifications as 911 dispatchers and Security Officers Level II. Students may continue to pursue other law enforcement fields after graduation as they are target occupations in the Cameron County.
