The Boys Bobcat Powerlifting travelled to Kingsville to compete at the THSPA Region 5 Division 3 Regional Championships. The Bobcats placed 13th out of 34 of the toughest teams in the Region.
Placing for the boys:

Aaron Ochoa 3rd place
Noe Leos 4th place
Freddy Garza 3rd place
David Castaneda 6th place
Juan Villegas 5th place
Aj Betancourt 6th place
Qualifying for state were Gavin Perez, Aaron Ochoa, Noe Leos, and Freddy Garza
They will be lifting at the THSPA State Powerlifting Championship in Abilene!

The Girls Bobcat Powerlifting Team competed at the THSWPA Region 5 Division 3 Powerlifting Championships at Bert Odgen Arena. The girls competed against some of the top teams in the state. As a team the girls placed 6th out of 26 teams sending 4 girls to state.

This past weekend 22 of our Rio Hondo High School P-Tech band students competed at the Region 28 UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest at Mercedes High School in which they performed demanding UIL repertoire for their instrumental judge.
We are proud to announce that ALL 22 STUDENTS EARNED A 1ST DIVISION! AND 20 OF OUR STUDENTS ADVANCE TO THE TEXAS STATE SOLO & ENSEMBLE CONTEST!
We wish our students luck as they prepare for State in Pflugerville, Texas in May!

RHHS’s Paul AhMu is among 26 students to move on to round two in the RGV Student Startup Showdown Entrepreneurship Challenge. Today he attended the Business Development Workshop at UTRGV CIC which is a workshop providing marketing, entrepreneurial guidance, and motivation for finalist teams.
